Burn the Witch!

When something the public does not like happens, you need look no further for a person to blame than the closest woman to hand: Kurt Cobain tragically kills himself… it was Courtney Love’s fault. The Beatles split – it was Yoko, or Linda… or better still… both.

This popped up on my timeline today…

This utter bullshit has to stop. WHY must it be over Meghan?

Stop blaming women for disagreements between men. And women of colour in particular. It wasn’t Yoko Ono who split The Beatles. It wasn’t Linda Eastman who split The Beatles. The Beatles split The Beatles. Sad as that was. And if, indeed, the relationship between William and Harry has gone sour, that’s their doing.

If the relationship between them was such that Harry felt he had to choose either William or Meghan, the relationship can’t have been as strong as everyone thought it was in the first place.

Meghan has not “bewitched” Harry. That’s not a thing. Women do not hold some sort of evil magic power over men. When men behave badly it’s their own responsibility. Blaming it on the woman closest to hand is not only insulting to her, it’s insulting to him. Harry is not a baby. He’s a grown man.

If Meghan was the straw that broke the brotherhood-Camel’s back, the back was going to break anyway.

Do I love Meghan? No, not particularly. My defence of her has nothing to do with any personal feelings I have for her.

This is utter crap. Do not buy into it.

The press’ treatment of Meghan has been like a metaphorical burning at the stake, or a witch dunking. The relationship has survived it thus far, so she must be a witch.

It’s boring. It’s dangerous. It’s insulting to Meghan. It’s insulting to Harry. It’s insulting to William, and insulting to your intelligence that they’re repeatedly feeding you this tripe.

Angry rant over for the day.
